Co-op stalwart Richard wins award for his work

The Robert Owen Group presents a Co-operative Award to Worcester Councillor Richard Udall

Last week, co-operative organisation the Robert Owen Group presented a Co-operative Award to local St Johns Councillor Richard Udall. The Award recognises Richard’s promotion of the co-operative values and principles in his everyday life and his work.

Co-operatives all over the world sign up to an agreed set of values, which include: democracy, equality, honesty, social responsibility and caring for others. The Robert Owen Group gives out Co-operative Awards every year to recognise the hard work put in by other co-operators in promoting and fulfilling the co-operative values.

Recognising Richard’s 24 year-long involvement in the Co-operative Movement, his dedication to co-operatives and his work with numerous community groups, the award was presented by Chris Morgan, President of the Robert Owen Group, at the January meeting of the Co-operative Group’s West Midlands Area Committee.

Speaking at the presentation, Chris Morgan said,

“It is an honour to be able to recognise the dedication Richard Udall has shown to the Co-operative Movement. Richard is a strong community person and he has helped numerous local groups, including a co-operative community garden, help for flood victims and he has helped with a range of recreational activities for young people. Richard is a truly hard-working Co-operative Champion.”

Richard is a Labour and Co-operative Party Councillor for Worcestershire County Council.
