A Robert Owen Alumni

We’ve been training teachers in partnership with local schools and colleges since 1998 and together we’ve trained hundreds of great teachers in that time.

Many of the teachers who trained with us are employed by partnership schools and it’s great to see them progressing in their careers and to see some come back to the Robert Owen Group to help train the next generation of teachers, undertaking roles as Subject Advisers or Training Managers or Mentors.

We’ve recently been looking at developing a Robert Owen Alumni, to bring all of the teachers who’ve trained with us together, to share ideas, get together and create a community.

We’re keen to get our current trainee teachers involved too, before they qualify at the end of this term.

So, we’d like to hear from all of you, be you a current trainee, a past trainee, a member school, a staff member, or interested party, about what you’d like to see in a Robert Owen Alumni.

We have been thinking of the following ideas:

  • Social events and get togethers
  • A magazine or newsletter including stories, articles and contributions from Alumni members and updating the Alumni on Robert Owen Group activities
  • An online forum/social network to share ideas, experiences, and socialise and keep in contact with fellow trainees.

Please contact Abi Horsburgh at ahorsburgh(at)robertowen.org with your ideas and suggestions about what you’d like to see in your Robert Owen Alumni.
