I am originally from Herefordshire and have deep seated commitments to the county. I am married with two children and live in Lugwardine. I am a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a member of the Institute of Economic Development. During my time in Herefordshire I have worked on key infrastructure projects including the Leominster Industrial Estate Access Road, Rotherwas Access Road and Edgar Street Grid. I am a board member of the Herefordshire and Worcester Chamber of Commerce and is also a Company Secretary to the Robert Owen Society, and a Governor of the Herefordshire College of Technology.
I have spent nearly 30 years in local government, working initially at Warwickshire County Council and then at a number of authorities in the North East of England before returning home to Herefordshire in 1994. I have worked for Hereford City Council and Herefordshire Council since this time. The majority of my career has been in economic development helping to create the right circumstances for businesses to thrive.
I am a qualified town planner but over the years have managed a wide range of different local government services including libraries, museums, tourism, community development, community safety and adult social care.
My current role as Director of Regeneration at Herefordshire Council involves managing planning, transportation, economic development, community development and strategic housing.
