- Qualified as a teacher in the early seventies. Worked in secondary schools and sixth form colleges in Birmingham and Shropshire. Retired after ten years as Principal of Ludlow College. Involved with the Robert Owen Group since 1998.
- South Shropshire 14-19 Forum Co-ordinator and project support worker.
- Experience of delivering adult and community learning projects in rural areas and developing work-based training programmes for employed adults in the care sector for which Ludlow College was awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence status.
